On Tuesday 17th April from 12pm until 8pm, participating Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops around the world will be hosting Ben & Jerry’s Annual Free Cone Day.
According to the information provided in Ben & Jerry's official site, Free Cone Day was first celebrated back in 1979 in the first Ben & Jerry's scoop shop - a dilapidated gas station in Burlington, Vermont, USA. Ben and Jerry had been scooping ice cream for a year and decided to reward staff and customers in the best way they knew how - by serving up a tasty tub of thanks free to everyone. An instant success, Free Cone Day has now been scooping up free cones for over twenty-five years and has raised tub loads of money for charity too.
