Mid-Autumn Festival &

We started this day early as it's special! You'll know why later in the post.
.
We got ourselves ready, then pick up Ms Wong and Poh Ong. All of us are well set for a good morning in the Zoo!
.
.
Guided by our usual habits, we quickly got down to look for a good spot to enjoy our morning breakfast. We decided to head straight to the Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre since a new morning performance called "Rainforest Fights Back" is expected at 10.30am.
.

.
The boys were fooling around as usual, also posing for the camera while the mummies got busy, preparing the food and drinks.
.
This strange character appeared just while we're enjoying our munchies (A gorilla was holding on to a cage with a man held captive in it) and got our boys really tickled! Haa.....Haa.....
.
.
We made sure we had a little camera time with the gorilla and its captive!..........and not before long, the show began..
.
.
Tthrough the 30-minute presentation, we were 'educated' about wildlife conservation, told through protagonist Kai, a native tribeswoman, and Vamoosh the greedy villain. The presentation encompasses numerous elements to educate both the young and old about conservating the wildlife and its valuable healing abilities.
.
We do agree that it's a wonderful 30 minutes.
.

.
Next up, we headed to Splash Amphitheatre for the "Splash Safari" presentation starting at 11.30am. This trip to the Zoo, we really watched the animal presentations silly didn't we?
.
Our tummies started rumbling after the elephant show and yes, it's time for lunch. We ate at the Forest Lodge and took at least 30 minutes of rest as the weather turned more humid that day.
.

.
When we are almost ready to leave, we chanced upon a queue lining up for the elephant ride. The boys were totally excited when they see people sitting on the elephant. Since the boys had actually not experienced the elephant ride, Daddy decided to bring them this time!
.
.
The boys were totally awesome especially Kiet, who keep saying "I want to sit in front"! Both were not afraid at all, bravely seated on the elephant (assisted by Daddy and the elephant trainers).
.
It was Amazing for them as 1st Timers! Hooray for Kiet & Poh Ong! Hee....
.
After their ride, we bade "BYE BYE" to the zoo for home....to catch their individual beauty naps.....
.
.
When evening comes, we begin another small and simple enjoyment. Not only it was the mid-autumn festival on the 15th day of August (lunar calendar), it's also the lunar birthday of our dear boy Poh Ong.
.

.
We got a small cake for the birthday boy and brought some packed food as simple fare for dinner. Post dinner comes an entertainment that cannot be forgotten or left undone. The Lanterns!
.

.
The ANG Mistress brought the paper lanterns along for the children to have some fun together. It's their first paper lantern experience anyway.
.
.
We're more than happy that we have brought so much fun in their tiny world..... They were both so happy and entertained for the day. Their excitement, their laughter, it's all over their faces!
